Last Night's Benefit.

The benefit put on last night for Maria Rouse generated about $2,070 dollars (IIRC the exact amount $2,067.50). What a wonderful community we all live in. Thanks to all who came and especially those who made it happen.

Yes, Yes the flagship Website is as a Yo-Yo.

Huh, you say? Yeah, its up and running one moment and down the next.

Yes, the NEW Bayanihan website (among others) is having problems. It was down a couple of days ago the webhosting service along with myself got it back up on Thursday night and then boom it was down again on Friday morning. At the present it is still down.

Sorry folks for the difficulties and thanks for your patience.

Yes.

The main NEW Bayanihan website is down.

I took it down last Sunday and the tools I have here in the room XYZ in Hotel Epsilon in Madison are insufficient to the task of rebuilding the website.

You will absolutely love what will show up when it does, expect it late this coming weekend.

 

No Vows

Why does it seem to me some people in the community think when they join a group they are getting married to the group and must forsake others?

One person (so the rumor goes) was castigating her fellow group-X members for joining our bus trip. This person went to the group-X's president and whined about so and so and the president of group-X said essentially: So?

So indeed. Now, I know relations have been frosty but I have talked with various members and various leaders and have found quite a few of them open and willing to co-exist. Unfortunately, those are not the ones who control the groups main resources (even though they are executive committee members) and as such their voice counts for a lot less than what it should.

When you attend a group-X event I wish you and all else a good time. I don't question you like a jealous spouse. Its about time for those members of group-X to accept our existence. All I care for is the success of our mission and events and the success or failure of group-X does not in any way affect our success.

Heard.

Word is floating about how people on the bus were over-charged. The bus trip cost a person $20.00/seat for a trip to/from Chicago and $15.00 for children. That is not overcharging.

However, one place where the – charge – may stick is with respect to the stop at the UniMart Filipino grocery store. Yes, there were problems with double-charging, mischarging etc at the UniMart. However, the UniMart and NEW Bayanihan have no formal connections and as such we are free to take our business elsewhere on our next trip. That is what we intend to do (unless the UniMart does something big to make up for the mishaps)

As far as people getting kicked off of the bus, well, that is what happens when people do not pay for their seat. Surely it is reasonable to bar those who do not pay from participating?
